The Power Beam Society of India was founded in the year 2003 to promote, to advance the awareness and to spread the highly specialised areas of Electron, Laser and Plasma Beam Technologies across the country. The principal objective of the Society is to bring together scientists and technologists working on equipment development and applications of power beams. Among the various activities, the Society has organized symposia and schools in the PBAMP series (Power Beams and Material Processing), SEBTA series (Symposium on Electron Beam Technology and Applications), PPT Series (Schools on Pulsed Power Technology) at BARC, VJTI and other research centres. Several special purpose meetings, conferences and workshops on Plasma science and technology have been organized at various universities and institutes including Bharathiar University, University of Pune, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, IASST, Guwahati, Mahathma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala. Besides the above activities, PSI is also involved in preparation of Strategic Planning Documents in niche areas. Power Beam Society of India takes great pleasure in sponsoring these events as a part of its commitment to promote Beam Technologies.
