POWER BEAM SOCIETY OF INDIA

Founded in 2003, the Power Beam Society of India (PSI) is a national professional body dedicated to advancing the science and applications of Electron, Laser, Pulsed Power, and Plasma Beam Technologies across the country.

Our Mission

To bring together scientists, engineers, and technologists working in power-beam research, equipment development, and applications — and to nurture the next generation through education, exchange, and outreach.

Activities & Outreach

Over the past two decades, PSI has organised symposia, schools, and conferences in the:

  • PBAMP series — Power Beams and Material Processing
  • SEBTA series — Symposium on Electron Beam Technology and Applications
  • SPPT series — Schools on Pulsed Power Technology

These have been hosted at BARC, VJTI, and partner institutions across India including Bharathiar University, University of Pune, Ravenshaw University (Cuttack), IASST (Guwahati), and Mahatma Gandhi University (Kottayam, Kerala). PSI has also delivered workshops and special-purpose meetings on plasma science and technology at universities and research centres nationwide.

Beyond conferences, PSI contributes to Strategic Planning Documents in specialised areas of beam technology, and serves as a sponsor and platform for events that promote beam science in India.
